Hello and welcome to our website.

The Kondoor Foundation was established to attempt social transformation through knowledge sharing and long term developmental programmes.

Our four pronged approach includes creating opportunities to encourage diverse thoughts that prevail in a pluralistic society such as ours. Knowledge sharing, by way of debates and discourses will help foster empathy and understanding, improving tolerance in a highly heterogeneous country like India. Kondoor Foundation organises lectures and debates on a wide range of topics inviting eminent personalities from across the globe. The next Kondoor Lecture will be held in Kochi, Kerala in February/March 2019

We also support long term, sustainable interventions in rural communities to empower them socially, culturally and economically through awareness, education and skill development. We are in the process of identifying a rural village in Maharashtra to execute this vision and with support, we hope to duplicate this across the country.

We encourage institutions to identify and motivate young talent and mould them into better professionals. The Kondoor Gold Medal given every year to the Bar Association in Kerala which fields the winning team in the All Kerala Quiz Competition for Young Lawyers conducted by Panampilly Academy for Continuing Legal Education is in this context. This year, Mavelikkara Bar Association was presented the medal in December 2018 by Hon’ble Mr. Justice PRR Menon, judge Kerala High Court, at an event graced by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Hrishikesh Roy, Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court and Mr. VS Sunil Kumar, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture.

Our initiatives in the field of culture seeks to promote the rich traditional arts and crafts of India, rooted mostly in the rural, underdeveloped parts of the nation, and prevent them from dying out. Our support to artisans to develop and improve their skills will help create meaningful livelihood, enhancing their quality of life.

It is our strong belief that being sensitive to the requirements of our disadvantaged communities is the only way to ensure our trust and faith in humanity. Our inspiration is our emblem, the Vegvisir - the ancient Icelandic way-finder and commit ourselves, as our motto suggests, to preserve the faith.

We are confident that Kondoor Foundation will find favour with all those who believe small acts of kindness can make a great difference. We also hope it will encourage you to walk with us.

Thank you
